Available Positions:

Inkjet / Inserter Machine Operator – 1st Shift

Cedar Graphics is seeking individuals to join our team who are interested in learning to operate inkjet and inserting machines involved with our mailing process on 1st shift. This position will be located in Cedar Rapids and is not a Hybrid or Remote Position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Will set up and troubleshooting inkjet, inserter and tabber machines.
  • Oversee inkjet quality, assuring barcodes meet postal specifications, and image is clean and clear.
  • Learn postal sortation, traying, sacking and palletizing of mail for post office delivery.
  • Daily and Weekly maintenance and cleaning of inkjet, belts and filters.
  • Understand class and category of mail.
  • Read and understand job ticket instructions.
  • Insure inkjet area is clean and hazard free.
  • Will fill out appropriate internal and postal paperwork as needed.
  • Assist in bindery when time permits.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, be mechanically inclined, and have good math skills and troubleshooting skills. Must be a self-starter, be able to read and comprehend job tickets and have a good work history. Previous experience in a printing or mail environment a plus.

Information Technology Manager

Cedar Graphics is seeking a self-starting, well-rounded individual who likes being a “jack of all trades”, loves to learn and enjoys challenges as he or she leads our IT department. This position will be located in Cedar Rapids and is not a Hybrid or Remote Position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee the IT department.
  • Leads development and implementation of IT projects.
  • Manages and provides support for all purchased applications, software, and in-house applications.
  • Work with end users to analyze processes and make recommendations on how to improve these processes with technology.
  • Be a liaison with subcontractors on programming and other technical issues that cannot be accomplished in-house and ensure scope of work is done on-time, within budget and meets business expectations.
  • Evaluates and manages third party providers for assistance on specific needs.
  • Evaluate technology solutions – make recommendations on software, applications and other development tools.
  • Oversee the company’s hardware and software infrastructure.
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, and security of network and servers.
  • Create and manage IT budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource allocation.
  • Develop and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and best practices to safeguard the organization’s data and systems.
  • Implement and monitor security measures such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption.
  • Develop and maintain a disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
  • Assists with other IT duties as assigned.
Skills and/or Knowledge include the following:
  • Bachelor’s in computer science, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading an IT department preferred.
  • Experience with IP Networks, firewalls, switches, routers, Wi-Fi, VPN, and other network equipment.
  • Experience with data integration and database management
  • Thorough understanding of IT and practical applications
  • Sound understanding of scripting, systems programming, Agile, Office365 and SQL.
  • Some knowledge or understanding of Json, NodeJS, Python or Java programming is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, both internally and vendor driven.
  • Comfortable collaborating with business teams to solve problems.

Sales Account Manager - Print

Cedar Graphics, a commercial wide format, digital, and offset printer in Hiawatha, Iowa, is seeking a self-motivated, sales-oriented professional that possesses the ability to provide printing solutions to our nationwide customer base.  This position is based out of Hiawatha. Will work with customers in almost all industries to assist them with their printing needs – from business cards, banners, folders, posters, calendars, and mailers to full, multiple component complex projects.  We can produce hundreds of different products for customers – from a few pieces to tens of thousands if needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Consistently reach out to current and prospective customers to learn of their needs and educate them on our print and other capabilities.
  • Build and maintain a list of qualified leads by researching industries and potential clients.
  • Learn the vocabulary, specifications, and intricacies of the print industry.
  • Provide weekly updates on sales goals and progress.
  • Provide outstanding customer service.
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork for estimating and production of jobs.
  • Works with customers on agreeable timelines and due dates.
  • Resolve customer satisfaction issues.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in marketing, Business, Communications or equivalent with 1-2 years sales experience or high school diploma with 3-5 years sales experience is required.
  • A working knowledge of printing / graphics communications would be helpful.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Ability to develop effective relationships internally and externally.
  • Must have good computer skills.
  • Candidate must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record and be able to travel occasionally.

Bindery Production Supervisor

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and schedules work to meet tight deadlines in the most efficient and cost effective way possible
  • Work with other production leaders to resolve daily production issues such as material, delivery, quality and employee performance.
  • Identify gaps in production that prevent production targets from being achieved.
  • Perform tasks necessary to ensure assigned team has the parts, tools, and resources necessary to accomplish their assigned work, allowing them to stay on task.
  • Ensure the desired product quality levels are achieved through use of standard work and training to those standards, training in operation and inspection techniques, and use of tools/data.
  • Create and maintain a respectful work environment by listening, seeking facts to support decisions, managing one’s own reactions, and addressing unacceptable behavior.
  • Proactively address substandard performance, conducts performance reviews, coach’s team for development.
  • Provides information to estimating, job planning, csr and sales on better ways to produce product.
  • Routinely develops ideas and solutions using continuous improvement tools and techniques to improve areas.
  • Support and foster an environment of continuous improvement by encouraging associates to challenge existing processes and implement solutions that enhance the overall effectiveness of the operation.
  • Communicates with team leaders to ensure changes are implemented and sustained.
  • Lead safety awareness and implement new techniques to assure a safe working environment.
  • Assure adherence to cross training of employees. Ensures adherence to product quality standards.
  • Coordinate personnel needs between areas to ensure optimization of customer needs.
  • Promptly completes first report of injury and thoroughly investigates any work place accidents or illnesses.
Qualifications
  • Preferred candidates will have a High School diploma or equivalent and prior experience in a leadership role. Other combinations of formal training and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 3-5 years in a complex, custom product manufacturing environment; print experience helpful
  • Able to facilitate, 5S, kaizen and process improvement events
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of business processes, financial decisions, and basic process improvement techniques
  • Ability to perform basic shop math functions
  • Demonstrated ability to solve practical problems, make decisions, and direct action
  • Basic business knowledge about how a business runs and makes decisions
  • Able to collaborate, coach, develop and motivate associates at all levels, effectively communicate 1:1 and in groups
  • Display energy for the business and effectively lead change
