If you are ready to exchange a file with Cedar Graphics, please double check the following steps to create a print-ready PDF to ensure a smooth process as we prepare to print your piece.

There a few steps to consider before sending your PDF to Cedar Graphics. First, are all the fonts embedded? Embedding the fonts will allow us to make any changes we may need before the piece is finalized. Second, be sure to be mindful of the 1/8" bleed on all sides. Make sure important text/ graphics does not hang over the bleed. Third, are your images high quality? Depending on the size of the photo we suggest 300-350 DPI. All colors should be CMYK not RGB. Only use PMS colors if printing as spot. To achieve a richer black, ensure black areas use 40/30/30/100 build. This adds 200% black over the area opposed to 100%. If you have small black text, ensure you are ONLY using 100% black. Be mindful of the overprint settings under "Attributes." Before sending, make sure your file is the correct size. Also, double-check your page content to make sure there are no missing pages.

Native application files are accepted, but do incur an additional charge. If uploading native files, please be sure that all fonts and support files are included with the upload. These fonts should either be open type or true type. If you come across any questions, please contact the Cedar Graphics preflight team at Preflight@cedargraphicsinc.com or 319.395.6939. We look forward to making your print piece come to life.
